The Isle of Wight is a great holiday destination for the family at any time of the year, having all the advantages of lots to do and see contained within an island of 380 square kilometres.  So you don’t have to travel for hours from one destination to another to enjoy all that it has to offer.  It’s also officially the sunniest place in the UK, with an average of 34 hours of sunshine a week.  And if you’re looking for a fun and economical break then Park Resorts offer Isle of Wight holidays on their sites which have enough variety to suit all tastes.

To get the most out of your holiday on the Island, take advantage of these top tips on things to do/places to go to during your stay :

  • For history buffs, there’s a feast of places to explore, including Brading Roman Villa, the finest Roman site in southern England, with an award-winning museum and visitor centre.  Both adults and kids will love it, for the interactive displays, meadow trail, and fascinating Roman artefacts in the museum.  And if all that makes you feel peckish, then there’s an excellent café on site
  • If you are keen on a more active holiday and getting back to nature, then you might like to start with a plan to go Isle of Wight camping, choosing a site based in a peaceful and more remote part of the Island.  Bring your own bike or hire one, and explore the miles of trails on the Island, enjoying the stunning views from the clifftops, and the peaceful lanes in the interior of the Island.  With the enthusiasm for cycling fired by Team GB’s Olympic successes, consider taking part in the Festival of Cycling held in the autumn, with days of fun activities
  •  For the kids (of all ages!) there are a variety of great fun parks, including Blackgang Chine at Chale, set in over forty acres of grounds at the top of the cliffs, offering a world of magic and activity. There’s fun slides, a roller coaster, and a wild west town, not forgetting Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, and much more to explore.  More than enough for a full day’s fun.
