I have been fortunate enough to visit Walt Disney on five occasions now. Each time I go back I love seeing how happy my kids are and how much fun they have. We’ve been back on numerous occasions because as a new member of the family gets old enough we bring them along. The older kids never complain about going back, in fact they’re the ones telling us how we need to bring their sister to Walt Disney Land for the first time!
Our first trip there was absolutely fantastic, but after a couple more visits I began to learn more and more about the place. This meant that each time we went back I was able to make the experience even better from what I had learnt last time.
So for all the parents out there planning to take their kids to Walt Disney Land Orlando, here are some great things I wish I had know first time round.
Get A Freebie At Home
If you want to start planning your Walt Disney trip at home it’s easy, all you have to do is order a free holiday panning video from Disney. I didn’t realise it would be as useful as it was! It was awesome for getting the kids hyped about the trip ( I admit it got me super excited too).
There’s a footpath that takes you by BoardWalk Inn and Swan & Dolphin which connects Epcot to Hollywood Studios. This is a brilliant shortcut to use, it will take you about 30 minutes or so to walk from one park to the other, but that is much quicker than any mode of transport you’ll find running between the two.
Visit At The Right Time
We’ve been in different seasons and I can tell you that I probably won’t go back during the summer again, it can be very hot for the kids and it’s also extremely busy. We much preferred heading to Walt Disney World Orlando during the later part of the winter and early spring months.
You want your christmas trip to be super memorable, so make sure that you get a good spot to watch Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime parade – this takes place during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Main Street USA is without question the place where you need to be, the reason for this is because it will ‘snow’ on the street as the parade goes by giving you the perfect christmas feel.
